Like most websites operators, Taskforce.is collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Taskforce.is’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Taskforce.is’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Taskforce.is may share non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate with organizations and employees of organizations that are members of the coalition, e.g., for example the number of visitors or signups during a particular period.
Taskforce.is also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for users who sign up for events or register to join the coalition in an organized action. Taskforce.is only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.
Certain visitors to Taskforce.is's websites choose to interact with Taskforce.is in ways that require Taskforce.is to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Taskforce.is gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up to attend an event to provide an email address and phone number so that we may contact them. Those who engage in actions with Taskforce.is – by signing a petition, placing a call to representatives, or sending an email to Congress, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal information required to process those actions. In each case, Taskforce.is collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Taskforce.is. Taskforce.is does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
In order the use particular features of the site, you may be required to share your personally-identifying information with these third-party service providers for the purpose of enabling the functionality of the site, and in some instances, for example signing up for a mail list or event, we may give one or more of these service providers limited access to the personally-identifying information that is reasonably necessary to deliver the service.
Taskforce.is may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Taskforce.is may monitor the number of users who've signed up for an event or who've visited a particular page on the website. Taskforce.is may display the agregrated statistics with members of the coalition or make them available publicly. However, Taskforce.is does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Taskforce.is discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to members of the coalition, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Taskforce.is’s behalf or to provide services available at Taskforce.is’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Taskforce.is’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.
Taskforce.is will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to to coalition members, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Taskforce.is discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena or court order, or when Taskforce.is believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Taskforce.is, third parties or the public at large.

We will attempt to provide this notice by email, if you have given us an email address, or by postal mail if you have entered a postal address. If you do not challenge the disclosure request, we may be legally required to turn over your information.
If you are a registered user of a Taskforce.is website and have supplied your email address, Taskforce.is may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new actions or events, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Taskforce.is and our efforts. We primarily use our website to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. Taskforce.is takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
If the Taskforce.is coalition is at some point disbanded, user information would not be transferred or acquired by a third party.
